Construction Methods

Post and Beam Construction
by Double Eagle Log and Engineered Homes

Post & Beam homes use logs interlocked by high precision joinery. Our creative innovations and high technical standards provide outstanding compatibility for all building phases.

Here is an example of a recently completed project nearly ready for disassembly and shipping to the client.

This project is a large machine storage shed, however Post & Beam Homes are constructed in much the same manner…

Traditional Full-Scribe
by Double Eagle Log and Engineered Homes

Full-scribe homes have logs stacked horizontally. Each log is precisely marked (scribed) and cut to exactly match the one below it. A tight fit and the use of a lateral gasket seals the logs and provides optimal weather protection without the need for chinking.

This is example of a small cottage recently erected in the Cariboo region of British Columbia.

Showing the home being erected on the cement foundation and ready for lock-up and roofing.
